Bobbi Brown Nude Finish Tinted Moisturizer Review

Recently I have been into lighter coverage foundations and face products. I personally don’t like the heavy cakey look and feeling that full coverage foundations give me. I recently took home a sample of the Bobbi Brown Nude Tinted Moisturizer; here are my thoughts on it.

I have tested this tinted moisturizer out three different ways: with a sponge, a brush and my hands. The first time I tried this, I was just messing around with it to get a feel for it. I used my hands on one side of my face and a brush on the other. The side of my face I applied with my hands looked a lot better than the side I used the brush on. The brush made it very streaky, patchy and brought up dry spots on my face I didn’t know were there.

The second time I tried the tinted moisturizer was before work one afternoon. I applied it with a sponge and shockingly it went on with a lot more coverage than I had expected. After finishing my makeup, I absolutely hated how my skin looked. It looked too dry and not skin like. Because I have oily skin, my natural oils always come through and give me more of a dewy look, which I really like. When I looked at my skin during and after I got home from work, I didn’t notice much of my natural oils come through which I didn’t like.

The third time I tried this out was on a school day. I applied it with my hands, but went over it with a sponge to get a more flawless finish. I really liked how my skin looked when I applied the tinted moisturizer this way. It looked natural and wasn’t heavy or cakey looking. My makeup looked nice throughout the entire day.

In total I’ve worn this four times now. The fourth time was at work, I applied it with my hands and went over with the sponge because that’s the best application method I have found. At first my makeup looked nice, but towards the end of the day it looked awful. The product didn’t apply on my nose nicely. I didn’t touch my face much at work, but there were large spots on my face that the product had completely come off from. I also noticed that I had new breakouts, which I’m assuming are from the product because it was the only new product I had been using. This also dried my skin out because the next day when I was getting ready, my nose was all flakey and overall my skin didn’t look good.

I really wanted to like this product, but I don’t think it is for me. I really liked the coverage once I found the best way to apply this, but other than that it was a flop for me. It didn’t stay on, it broke me out and it dried out my skin. That’s not what I want from my face products. Personally I wouldn’t recommend this, but if you are interested, go and pick up a sample and see how your skin reacts to it before buying a full size.

6 of My Current Favorite Makeup Products

Here is a list of my six current favorite makeup products!

1- Benefit Cosmetics Hello Happy Foundation

Credit: Huda Beauty

Back in August of 2018, I got color matched at Sephora and the Benefit Cosmetics Hello Happy foundation happened to be a match for my coloring and skin type. At the time I wasn’t interested in it, so I didn’t get it. Around January I was tired of my normal foundation and became curious about this one again. I picked it up at my local Ulta and instantly fell in love. It’s a buildable light to medium coverage foundation with a semi matte finish. Whenever I wear this my products such as bronzer and blush blend out so smoothly and my makeup overall looks flawless.

2- Eylure x Jordyn Woods False Lashes in Summer Heir

I had heard about Jordyn collabing with Eylure, but after the whole drama with the Kardashians I didn’t have much interest picking them up. That was until I saw YouTuber Jackie Aina wear them in one of her tutorials and they looked stunning on her. Seeing how good she looked made me want to go and try them. I went to my local Ulta and bought a pair. After trying them on for the first time I was hooked. I’ve never had a pair of lashes look so natural yet give me so much length and volume. Everytime I wear these everyone thinks they’re my real lashes and are shocked when I tell them it’s a pair of strip lashes. This is definitely one product I’m stocking up on!

3- Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette

I was so excited for the ABH Soft Glam palette when it was announced last year. I picked it up the day it was released in stores. When I took it home and started to do different looks, I wasn’t too thrilled with it, however a year later I love it! The colors are all so beautiful. You can get a natural look or a dramatic look with the shades. It’s so quick and easy to use and I always get a beautiful eye look with it!

4- Dose of Colors Desi x Katy Fuego Highlighter

I am a fan of the YouTubers Desi Perkins and LustreLux (Katy). I missed their collab with Dose of Colors the first time around, but was able to grab some products from Ulta when they released their second collab. I had heard great things about the highlighter in Fuego, so I knew I had to pick it up. Online the color looked like it would be a perfect match, however when my order came, the color was a tad too dark for me. Although I can’t wear this by itself, I still found a way to use it. I love layering this on top of a lighter highlighter. It gives a little bit of warmth and extra glowiness to my look!

5- Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Credit: Target

I have always been a fan of Maybelline mascaras. They are inexpensive and always get the job done for me. I was getting bored of the mascara I had been using because it wasn’t doing what I wanted for my lashes. During a recent trip to Ulta I decided to pick up the Lash Sensational mascara and I’m pretty impressed by it. This separates my lashes while still giving me great length and volume! I always like to apply two coats of any mascara I use, but I can get away with one coat of this depending on the look I’m going for!

6- Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb

Credit: Sephora

I have been obsessed with the original Fenty Gloss Bomb since I got it. It is honestly one of the best lip glosses I have ever used. The formula is so beautiful. I applies so smoothly and is so hydrating on the lips. My lips have never looked more plump, juicy and healthy from a lip gloss. I also love the smell of it. Hands down it is the best lip gloss and I need to get my hands on the other shades!

Those are the 6 products I’m currently loving! Do you enjoy any of these products or are you loving something else? Let me know in the comments below!

10 Tips Every Beauty Lover Should Know for Flawless Makeup

Here are 10 simple tips every beauty lover should know!

1 – Use a darker shade of foundation or concealer for contouring

On a budget and don’t want to spend 40$ on a contour kit you’ll only use one or two shades out of? Purchase a darker shade of your favorite foundation or concealer and use that to contour!

2 – Apply lipstick as your blush

If you’re running late on time, only have a few products or want a monochromatic look, apply your lipstick as a cream blush!

3 – Use your bronzer as eyeshadow

Powder products are very multi purposeful. If you want a natural or barely there eyeshadow look, sweep some of your bronzer into your crease.

4 – Use tape or a business card to get a sharp line for winged eyeliner

This tip has been around for ages. Line up a piece of tape or a business card with the corner of your eye and you’ll get a perfectly sharp line every time you apply eyeliner!

5 – Curl your lashes before applying eyeshadow

Curling your eyelashes before applying your eyeshadow will make your eye appear more open and will allow for you to get a better idea of where to apply your eyeshadow

6 – Apply a face mist before, during and after applying your makeup

Everyone applies some sort of face mist at the end of their makeup application to ensure their look will last all day long. Applying it before starting your makeup can hydrate your skin and act as a primer. Applying it between steps helps to settle any powders and give a more flawless look. The Mario Badescu face sprays are perfect for this!

7- Mix your favorite moisturizer into your favorite foundation

If you want a lighter coverage or are interested in tinted moisturizers, a simple way to achieve the look is to mix some of your favorite moisturizer into your foundation.

8- Use eyeshadow as eyeliner

If you want a softer look or tend to make mistakes when applying liquid eyeliner, use some black eyeshadow!

9 – Use concealer or foundation in place of an eyeshadow primer

Using a primer is important for keeping your eyeshadow locked down all day. Using concealer or foundation on your eyelids will give you the same results as a primer would.

10 – Heat up your eyelash curler for lashes that will stay curled all day

If your eyelashes always fall flat or are stick straight, try heating your eyelash curler with a hair dryer for a few seconds for a curl that will last all day! Make sure to check the temperature of the metal on your wrist so you don’t burn your eyes.

My Top 5 Favorite Products from Bobbi Brown Cosmetics

I recently started a job at Macy’s working for the Bobbi Brown Cosmetics counter. I have heard of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, but never used her products as they are out of my price range. Working at the counter has given me the ability to test and sample out different products from the line. Here are my top 5 favorites!

1- Skin Foundation SPF 15

The Skin Foundation SPF 15 is one of six foundations the brand offers. Compared to other foundations I have tried, this one takes the cake. The formula is very lightweight, so it feels like you’re not wearing anything. It doesn’t look or feel heavy and cakey on the skin; it looks exactly like my skin! I also love that is has some SPF in the formula so my skin is being protected. This foundations comes in 30 different shades so it’s perfect for everyone!

2- Highlighting Powder

Highlight is one of my favorite products, so I had to try out the Bobbi Brown Highlight Powders. These highlighters are the best I have ever tried. The formula is so smooth and buttery and goes onto the skin beautifully. They do not emphasize any texture and give a lit from within glow!

3- Lip Balm SPF 15

This lip balm is no joke. You need the tiniest amount and your lips are feeling moisturized and hydrated all the day. The tin packaging is adorable and easy to take on the go. This has SPF in it, so your lips will be protected from the sun as well!

4- Blush

The Bobbi Brown Blush formula is beautiful! All of the colors are beautiful and look natural on the skin. The formula is smooth and doesn’t look patchy when applied to the apples of the cheeks. The blushes are pigmented, a little goes a long way, so they last a long time. My favorite shade is Clementine!

5- High Shimmer Lip Gloss

Lip gloss is my favorite lip product. I have tried the regular lip gloss from Bobbi Brown and it wasn’t my favorite formula. The High Shimmer Lip Glosses are amazing though! They don’t feel sticky or gloopy on the lips. They give just a hint of color while having gorgeous specks of glitter throughout. My favorite shade is Bellini!

There you have it, my top 5 favorite products from Bobbi Brown Cosmetics! Feel free to let me know what products you love from the brand!
